I had long been thinking about having a sound full-proof financial plan,but I was unable to reach my goal somehow or the other.However when I met Uttam sir and Arijit,it was like an all new Avenue opened up and I didn't even think a second before giving my financial planning to them,and I am quite sure that they will do a wonderful job. It was early 2017. It was cold in Sweden and I was an unhappy employee of a big MNC. I was thinking and searching on financial independence as I was thinking to start my own venture. Then I found an article inn Mr Uttam Kumar Sen’s blog on financial literacy; I was moved. While coming to Kolkata, during a vacation, I contacted Mr Uttam Kumar Sen and asked him a question, “Can I leave a stable and well-paid job and start on my own ?” He smiled and asked me to tell him about my current status and what exactly I am thinking for my future. He spent 7-8 hrs a day to listen to my stories and even my spouse was a part of those discussions. After a number of sessions, he assessed my assets and liabilities, presented my financial plan. I took some time off during this weekend to look at my portfolio that is being manged by Mr. Uttam Kumar Sen since last 10 years and thereafter by Arijit Sen. These 10 years have been very eventful in my life in different ways - My father suffered from a massive heart attack in 2009 and had undergone prolonged treatments for two years till he passed away in 2011 after living happily for 80 years My mother became dependent on me since 2011 and as a son I have been taking care of all her needs and medications including a major surgery in Jan 2019. My son, Rishav, passed his 10th and 12th grades and then completed his B.Tech in 2017. He started his M.Tech in 2018 at Denmark Technical University We bought our flat in Mumbai in May 2019 I moved out of India with my wife for better professional opportunity in 2014 and returned in Feb 2019 During these last ten years I had simply followed Uttam's advice (must say without very less debate and argument with him) which had helped me to sail through these eventful 10 years. FY 2018-19 had been one of the most volatile years with major market fluctuations in terms of investments. FY 2019-20 continues to be turbulent as I write this email. However, when I looked at my portfolio today, I felt reasonably happy with decent returns that I have received even in unfavorable market situations. I am sure Arijit will take Merry Mind to greater heights as you have got a good foundation created by your father, Mr. Uttam Kumar Sen.
